Message i bought the tt about 1 month ago origional owner. he said completely stock. he had a jdm motor put in recently wiht 120k service done by nissan in new york. (shitty job).

i have been driving the car daily all the time. stock boost guage always went to the line before +14 and held so i though i was always at stock boost. come to find out that i was only at 5 or 6psi. i new it was always slow for some reason but didnt think the stock guage was off so much.

i installed boost guage.

i installed a manual boost controller an left it completely closed to begin adjusting how far to open it. i drove down the street and immedietly 16lbs. i stopped and opened it a bunch figuring i was using it backwards. it only hit 6psi. no matter how much open it went to 6psi. so for shits an giggles i pulled the vacumm line taht goes to the wastegates off the controller and drove up the street it pulled the same 16lbs an held there.(open wastegate only hit 16lbs). i reinstalled the line and drove like that to the dyno wiht no smoke and no issues(about 30miles).

i put the car on the dyno to check my air fuel and things cause i dont have a way to check them myself. it was a solid 10.0 a/f ratio. at 16lbs an made 280rwhp and 300tq even. i did 4 pulls like that to make sure it was ok. my buddy that dyno tunes said i was running really rich and could turn the boost up higher if i wanted(i cannot turn it up higher cause it wont let me) i said no cause 16psi i read constantly is tops for 370 injectors. especially wiht a stock ecu. i asked like 4 times if hes sure i can stay at 16lbs . he replied your perfect should have no problems if anything i wish you had an apexi or atleast feul pressure regualtor to adjust the feul but you can just raise the boost.

my mods SHOULD be absolutly none. it has stock air box wiht no exaust literally except precats. should be stock ecu , injectors, is stock smics , auto 96 tranny.........

it is odd that i was only running 5psi the whole time wiht stock guage saying almost +14 when i purchased it.

also its odd how i did open wastegates for a second and it wouldnt pass 16psi.(only did it to see how things ran if i hooked them up correctly).

also odd that if i open boost controller or disconnet it and put it back to oem that it will only run 5psi( i know that is safe boost) this is why i was neervous about runnning higher boost levels, i didnt want to jus bypas the ecu protecting the motor cause something was wrong. but the results showed that things werent wrong so im not sure what was going on.

im guessing just POS boost controller and wont accually controll it and lets it be top boost or low boost.

now im not sure where i stand. the car does have auto turbos that are off the jdm motor (suposidly, all nissan did was get motor compression test and drop in.)
